Evergreen Grasses for Year-Long Colour in Your Garden

Carex ‘Evergreen’ is exactly as it says an evergreen grass with variegated leaves of green and yellow. It is not known for flowering but does sprout inconspicuous, brown flowers in the summer time. It is low maintenance and will only ever require any dead leaves to be removed. It looks good in a wide range of places including courtyards, rock gardens, patios, containers beds and borders.

Planting Tip

Carex works well as a prairie garden planted with achillea or planted with azaleas or rhododendrons for a more exotic looking display. Or any perennial plant that appreciates the same conditions as Carex.
